
Alma Brigole
Alma Brigole’s background in physical education and dance education is from the University of the Philippines-Mindanao, Human Kinetics Department as the Assistant Professor in Physical Education and Artistic Director for the UP Mindanao Dance Ensemble. She also had a rewarding teaching career, handling Gym and Special Education K-12 in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, USA. Alma currently teaches early years physical education and dance in the Seven Oaks School Division (SOSD). In SOSD, Alma has introduced Philippine Folk Dance and traditional Tinikling in places like, Heritage Languages Program, Arts Camp for early years, Divisional Dance Workshop for dance educators, and at the MTS PD Day TEMPO for music teachers. In addition to these teaching experiences, Alma established a dance troupe at Maples Collegiate to teach high school students about Cultural dances in Folk and Neo- Ethnic and has performed for the Asian Heritage Society of Manitoba, Manitoba Culture Day at the Forks, and the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival. Alma is a passionate dancer who has been taking adult ballet and jazz classes at Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
