Carmelita Espino
Carmelita is a passionate educator with years of experience teaching in both the Philippines and Canada. After 14 years of teaching in the Philippines, she moved to Canada in 2008 with her family. She earned her Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts, and Master’s Degree from Saint Micahel’s College of Laguna, Philippines. In Canada, she completed the certificate in Early Childhood Education III from Red River College, the certificate in English as an Additional Language from University of Winnipeg, and a certificate of completion on TESL Basics for Language Volunteers. She spent six years as an early childhood educator before finding her way back to the classroom.
Her journey from a substitute teacher to a permanent educator has been meaningful and rewarding. Now, she teaches in the Filipino-English Program at Arthur E. Wright Community School, where she helps students connect language, culture, and learning. For Carmelita, education is a lifelong journey, and she loves growing and learning alongside her students. Beyond teaching, she is a loving wife and a proud mother to three boys.
